Different to what I expected after listening to your first EP of 5 songs - brilliant! - but I really like this song! Can't wait to get my copy - will it be on iTunes??

Imagine entering the final minute of our existence.
The clock hovering on the precipice of it’s final revolution

Vivid reflections flood your mind. You walk backwards down the pathways of your life, revisiting moments lived, moments loved… and those you’d hoped forgotten. Things you achieved… (were they enough)? Sights you’ve seen… were they many? The lives you’ve touched… what impact have you had?

These are the types of questions that inspire 11:59, influencing both their songwriting and the message they aim to disseminate.

Hailing from diametrically opposed corners of the northern hemisphere, 11:59 - Stu, Phil and Matt on meeting, ignited an unexpectedly explosive creative spark. Energising audiences with their fusion of Brit-Pop, Rock and Electro Riffs, the music created by 11:59 is a perfect expression of the range of influences from which they draw.

An Australian outfit producing music with a distinctly British flavour, their gradual rise in profile sees the band progressing through Sydney’s musical ranks. With humble live beginnings in a garage in Bella Vista, the band has since created an impact at venues like Manly Fisho’s and @Newtown.

As 11:59’s stocks continue to rise, they’ve secured a gig at the legendary Annandale Hotel. And if winning the May 2008 MySongcast competition didn’t inspire them to wonder ‘what’s next’, then taking out top spot in the Macarthur Clash battle of the bands later that year certainly did.

The November 2008 release of their first single ‘Smaller Skies’ received a strong response from fans and their highly anticipated second release ‘OxyMORON’ is set to continue that trend.

And while the questions of life continue to inspire them, one answer is fast becoming abundantly clear…11:59 are among the Sydney bands to follow. (But time is running out… see them at their more intimate gigs, before it’s too late.)
